The American Miniature Horse Registry is the original registry for the Miniature Horse and recognizes two miniature divisions. Division A miniatures are up to 34" in height and Division B miniatures are over 34" and up to 38" tall. Miniature horses are popular with both children and adults. These versatile little horses can do just about everything a full-size horse can do. They are big fun in a small package.

Miniature Horse shows are hosted around the country and attract large numbers of miniature horse fans of all ages. These shows offer a variety of classes from halter and showmanship to obstacle driving and speedy roadster driving... and everything in between.

Miniatures are well suited for everyone from the novice horse person to the consummate show professional. Miniatures are extremely versatile. Their roles vary from backyard pet, to gorgeous show horses, to therapy horses for handicapped and companions to the elderly.
Whatever your interest in horses, there is a Miniature Horses suitable for the job!

At Miranda Lambert’s recent Cause For The Paws Benefit Concert for the Human Society of East Texas, country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton weren’t the only stars in attendance. A Miniature Horse named Lil Red stole the show when he was auctioned off in The Cause For The Paws auction, raising a big $3,300 for such a small guy.
Jackie Lemon, of Happy Hollow Miniature Horses, donated the 26.5” yearling Lil Red, known formerly as Painted Arrows Red Son, to the auction. “The Humane Society of East Texas does wonderful things for animals in our area and once a year Miranda Lambert organizes this event along with Blake Shelton, Kacey Musgraves and Adam Hood. A friend of Miranda’s asked me if I had a horse we could donate,” Jackie said.

Lil Red, owned by Jackie Lemon of Happy Hollow Miniature Horses in Texas, brought in $3,300 during an auction at the Cause For The Paws Benefit Concert for the Human Society of East Texas.

Jackie chose to donate Lil Red because he was small, good-natured and already had experience at shows and visiting local nursing homes. “When he was only four-months-old he walked in a local parade, so I thought he was the kind of horse that would do well no matter where he went,” Jackie said. “I knew Red would hopefully bring in a good donation, like maybe $1,200. I never dreamed he would bring in $3,300. The only thing that brought more, according to our local newspaper, was Blake Shelton’s guitar which brought in $4,000.”
Gina Rebich, of Lake Palestine, Texas, bought Lil Red in the Cause For The Paws auction, and promptly gave him to one of the youth that Jackie works with. “What an exciting ride this has been,” Jackie said.
