on Saturday, 04 May 2013. Posted in Press Release

Morton, IL – The American Shetland Pony Club, Inc. has named Jill Gleason as the new Marketing & Programs Manager.

Gleason is a Boyd College graduate with a degree in Tour/Travel Management.  She began her career with the Peoria Convention & Visitors Bureau in Peoria, IL.

Gleason later moved to the IMAX Entertainment Complex in Branson, MO, where she served as the Vice President of Advertising, Marketing & Sales for eight years.  She also served as the chairman on the Tour & Travel Marketing Committee for the Branson Lakes Chamber of Commerce and CVB.

“I’m super honored to take on this role,” Gleason said.  “I’ve spent many years on the associate side and it’s been a great run, but getting on the planner side and working for this prestigious organization, is exciting for me. “

Gleason will have the opportunity to attend the ASPC Congress and the AMHR Nationals this year.  “I am told these are equivalent of the Super Bowl for Shetland Ponies and Miniature Horses.  I look forward to meeting and working with all the members.”

Gleason said she is open to the challenges and opportunity to take a deeper dive into each of the assets with ASPC/AMHR.

Gleason has one son who attends the University of North Carolina Greensboro.  “Now that he is away at school, I may have to get me a small equine to fill the void.”

2012 Plans Continue History of  Serving Small Equine World

Morton, IL — The American Shetland Pony Club, Inc., one of the oldest breed registries in the United States, is not sitting on its laurels in 2012.  Instead, this multi-faceted and multi-breed association is boldly expanding some of its offerings and upgrading other programs or division for a fresh new approach this year.

The American Shetland Pony Club, Inc., (ASPC) was established in 1888 to govern the then-burgeoning interest in Shetlands in the United States.  ASPC is one of this country’s oldest equine governing bodies. In addition to championing and advancing the American Shetland, the ASPC established other breeds and divisions under its auspices that complement the association’s original vision and goals.
