The ASPC/AMHR/ASPR Carriage Year End High Point Carriage Driver Award:

There will be one (1) award given to the High Point Carriage Driver in the Shetland Division and one (1) award given to the High Point Carriage Driver in the Miniature Division. Print your form, fill in all of the sanction ASPC/AMHR shows you attended and what carriage classes you participated in along with how you placed under each judge in those classes. A simple point system to be used: 1st place is 10 points, 2nd place is 9 points, 3rd place is 8 points, 4th place is 7 points, 5th place is 6 points, 6th place is 5 points, 7th place is 4 points, 8th place is 3 points, 9th place is 2 points and 10th place is 1 point. You may attach a copy of your horses’ performance record to the End of the Year form and highlight those classes and placings. The forms will be mailed to the chairman of the Carriage Committee by December 1st of the current show season. All awards are at the discretion of the Carriage Committee.

Award will be at the discretion of the ASPC/AMHR Carriage Committee.

The following point system will be used to figure the End of Year Award since both Congress and the AMHR Nationals place to 10th place:

1st  place  - 10 points

2nd  place - 9 points
3rd  place - 8 points
4th  place - 7 points
5th  place - 6 points
6th  place -  5 points
7th  place -  4 points
8th  place - 3 points
9th  place - 2 points
10th place - 1 point

The People Hall of Fame award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to American Shetland Pony Club, Inc., in some fashion during their association with the organization. Hall of Fame candidates are nominated from one of three categories: Historical Era (1888 to 1940); Intermediate Era (1941 to 1990); or Current Era (1991 to Current).

Recommendations for potential inductees may be made each year to the American Shetland Pony Club, Inc., home office. Nominations are encouraged to be in writing and should include documentation for the nomination including a biography for the nominee. All members, past and present, including the Board of Directors, are eligible for nomination and induction into the People Hall of Fame. Nominations should be made by February 1st of each calendar year.

This award recognizes an American Shetland Pony Club, Inc., member who has made a significant contribution to the Club by the unselfish promotion of the Shetland Pony and Miniature Horse.

How the process works:

A selection committee consisting of three members of the Board of Directors shall solicit nominations from the membership. This can be done through the "Official Pages" in the Journal and/or through Area Directors. Suggested deadline is July 31st.

This scholarship is to provide financial assistance for an adult member who may be going back to school. College, vocational, and technical schools qualify. It must be applied for and is not won. Please contact the National Office for more details.

This program provides an opportunity for organization members to compete for awards outside of and independent of the showring. Participants must be a current member of the American Shetland Pony Club, Inc. and must be non-professional artists.

Entries must feature at least one Shetland Pony, Miniature Horse or American Show Pony.

Age categories for competition include: Adult; Youth age 13-17; and Youth 7-12.
