Hall of Fame

Hall of Fame awards recognize and give permanent, lifetime championship status to the breed's greatest show horses and producers of show horses, the ASPC/AMHR/ASPR administers and maintains the ASPC/AMHR/ASPR Hall of fame and in order for a pony or horse to receive Hall of Fame points, the owner (including youth) must be a current member in good standing with the ASPC/AMHR/ASPR. Sires and dams of Hall of Fame horses are also recognized by becoming Superior sires and dams.

Earning Points

Hall of Fame scoring is determined by points earned at all ASPC/AMHR/ASPR approved shows. Points credited to each animal take into consideration not only the actual placing in a class, but the number of entries in the class. The points are cumulative and stay with the horse throughout his/her entire life.

All Hall of Fame awards will be tabulated at the end of the show season. (Show season runs January 1st - December 31st) Will be awarded at the following year convention.

To achieve Hall of Fame status, a Shetland, miniature, Show Pony or National Sport Performance Pony must score 70 points in Halter or Performance, and the show record must include five Grand Champions wins with competition (one must be one as a two year old or older), or five performance Championship/Stake wins with competition. A horse could achieve Hall of Fame recognition in both Halter and Performance if requirements are met. Hall of Fame points are not given for Model, Amateur, Color.

Silver Hall of Fame is achieved by reaching 140 points and 10 Stakes or Grands.
Gold Hall of Fame is achieved by reaching 250 points and 20 Stakes or Grands.

In the performance division, only one preliminary class, in addition to a stake, will be counted (the placing resulting in the highest number of points).

A mare is designated as a Superior Dam when she has produced two Hall of Fame offspring and a stallion becomes a Superior Sire when he has six Hall of Fame offspring. The owner of the qualifying dam or sire must submit, in writing, a letter to the National office listing the Hall of Fame offspring, along with their registration numbers and date of birth before the horse will be designated as a Superior Dam or Superior Sire.

Canadian & International

Canadian & International Shows officiated by an approved guest Judge(s) will be eligible for Canadian & International Hall of Fame points. All sanctioned Canadian and International Shows will count as qualifying shows for the AMHR National Show. For a horse to be included, the owner listed in the database must have a Canadian or International address.
