Super Gelding

The Super Gelding program was created to help showcase how amazing geldings are to own. Little credit is given to how versatile geldings are for the entire family in and out of the show ring. The Super Gelding program is here to spotlight them! The program rules are simple. A $20.00 nomination fee will secure your gelding a place in either halter or performance categories (or $40.00 for both). Categories are offered for all divisions. The nomination deadline is Dec. 1 of each year (points can be tallied from Dec 2- Nov 30 of that show season). Fill out the nomination form, attach your $20.00 and mail in to the ASPC/AMHR office. Then keep track of your points throughout the show season and mail those in to the committee chair. You DO NOT have to be nominated before the show season. You can mail in your nomination and points at the same time. The winner of their division/category will be given 80% of the nomination pot and a brag award donated by sponsors.

The rules are below for the following categories:

Performance tabulation:

For each gelding nominated, chose up to 20 performance classes to fill out the form. On the form provided, fill out the date of the show, the class name, and the place given along with the judges name. Each judge is considered 1 class. For example, at a 3 judge show, you can choose the placings from one or all judges to count towards your 20 performance classes. Use the point system to calculate and total your points. Points will be double checked by the Super Gelding Committee. In case of a tie, the tie will be broken by which horse received the most first places in the classes submitted (HOF point system).
Examples of performance classes: Driving, in-hand obstacle, hunter, jumper, liberty

Halter tabulation:

For each gelding nominated, chose up to 10 halter classes to fill out the form. On the form provided, fill out the date of the show, the class name, and the place given along with the judges name. Each judge is considered 1 class. For example, at a 3 judge show, you can choose the placings from one or all judges to count towards your 10 halter classes. Use the point system to calculate and total your points. Points will be double checked by the Super Gelding Committee. In case of a tie, the tie will be broken by which horse received the most first places in the classes submitted (HOF point system).
Examples of halter classes: Aged, model, color
